Hmm I went to Charanth once and got petrified, do all the mobs there have crazy specials? And if so whats a good level to go there, I've always heard it's kind of a mage area.

A lot of them do. Mayor isn't too bad. I think he just rushes. Bandersnatches, stonebinders, and witch doctor all petrify. Its an elite area if you've got enough charisma to keep stuff from autoing.
