Sword of the Ancients

I know where this sword comes from (Rorcyn), but my sources tell me that it has a special that allows it to change weapon class. I've tried it out but it hasnt specialed once. It never autos but I didn't store it or anything--just wielded it immediately.

Any insight on this? the information on the WC special comes from merentha underground weapons chart, which I've typically found to be reliable.
